Bus Catches Fire Near Mahatma Gandhi Setu, Passengers Escape Unharmed

Hajipur: A Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) CNG bus caught fire near Teresia turn on the Hajipur-Patna road, close to pillar number 1 of the Mahatma Gandhi Setu, on Tuesday. The fire, suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, led to panic among passengers, who managed to escape by jumping off the bus.
Police from Ganga Bridge police station and three fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene, successfully bringing the blaze under control. According to officials, the bus was en route from Hajipur Junction to Patna Junction with approximately 50 passengers on board when the fire broke out.
Eyewitnesses reported that both the driver and the conductor fled the scene as the flames engulfed the vehicle. This incident comes just weeks after a similar fire occurred on Mahatma Gandhi Setu on January 11, where passengers also had to jump to safety.
