Career Workshop Invigorate 2.0 Empowers Students at Patna Women’s College

Patna: The Placement and Career Counselling Cell of Patna Women’s College organized a two-day workshop, Invigorate 2.0, on March 24-25, at B.J. Sullivan Hall for the outgoing students of Semester VI (UG) and Semester IV (PG). The workshop aimed to equip students with essential career-building skills, focusing on professional documents like CVs and resumes and the significance of LinkedIn in career growth.

On March 24, 2025, Dr. Sahar Rahman, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of English, along with Dr. Bhawna Sinha, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, guided students on crafting structured CVs using AI, understanding key differences between CVs and resumes, and optimizing LinkedIn profiles. Dr. Rahman emphasized that a well-structured CV serves as a professional identity. The session was moderated by Sania, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Mantasha of Semester II.

On March 25, 2025, Alok John, Dean of NICCS, provided insights into interview preparation, including researching company values, strengthening LinkedIn visibility, using software for structured interview responses, and the impact of body language and professional attire. Dr. Soofia Fatima, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management, conducted a session on communication skills, covering the 7Cs of communication, vocabulary and pronunciation enhancement, and the use of AI tools to refine language skills. She also shared best practices for formal communication, emphasizing the importance of avoiding repetition, maintaining a personal dictionary, and adapting to digital communication trends. Adweetiya Sinha, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science, guided students in identifying and developing essential soft skills with interactive exercises and real-life examples. He emphasized communication, teamwork, and time management. The session was moderated by Muskan, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Adrita.

The workshop provided students with practical, hands-on training in resume writing, interview skills, and communication, empowering them to navigate the job market confidently. The entire event was coordinated by the members of the Placement and Career Counselling Cell and the student council.
