CBI Files Chargesheet Against 13 in NEET Paper Leak Case
Patna: The CBI on Thursday filed its first chargesheet against 13 individuals in the NEET paper leak case. The chargesheet was submitted to a special CBI court and includes the following accused: Nitish Kumar, Amit Anand, Sikandar Yadavendu, Ashutosh Kumar, Roshan Kumar, Manish Prakash, Ashutosh Kumar-2, Akhilesh Kumar, Awadhesh Kumar, Anurag Yadav, Abhishek Kumar, Shivanandan Kumar, and Ayush Raj.
The chargesheet lists the accused under Sections 120-B, 201, 409, 380, 411, 420, and 109 of the IPC.
The case began with an FIR filed based on a written complaint by an inspector at Shastrinagar Police Station in Patna. As the investigation expanded, the case was transferred to the CBI on June 23. The CBI has employed a range of methods, including forensic analysis, artificial intelligence technology, CCTV footage, and tower location data, to gather evidence against the accused.
Further investigation is ongoing into other aspects of the case involving additional suspects. Many of the accused are already in judicial custody. Supplementary chargesheets will be filed as the investigation progresses. To date, 40 individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, with 15 of those arrests made by the Bihar Police.
