Central Super Specialty Hospital in Patna Upgrades Emergency Department

Patna: The Central Super Specialty Hospital in Patna today unveiled its upgraded emergency department, which now features six additional beds, bringing the total capacity to 10. The inauguration ceremony, held on December 11, 2024, was led by General Manager Chhatrasal Singh.

In attendance were several key officials, including Principal Head of Departments of Headquarters, Hajipur, Divisional Railway Manager for Danapur Jayant Kumar Chaudhary, Principal Chief Medical Director Dr. Jagdish Chandra, Medical Director Dr. Subodh Kumar Mishra, Additional Chief Health Director (Administration) Dr. A.K. Ojha, Additional Chief Health Director (Gynecology) Dr. Sandhya Kiran, and other senior medical professionals.

The newly upgraded emergency department is set to serve the 89,044 UMID card registered employees and beneficiaries of Central Railway and neighboring zonal railways. The hospital typically handles between 800 and 900 outpatient department (OPD) patients per day and 600 to 700 inpatient department (IPD) patients each month.

General Manager Chhatrasal Singh expressed his commitment to ensuring that the hospital receives all necessary support to continue improving its services and achieve a prominent position in healthcare delivery. The upgraded facilities are expected to significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity to meet the growing healthcare needs of railway employees and their families.
