Cyclone Dana continues to impact Bihar, heavy rain expected in five districts

Patna: The blistering heatwave that had gripped Bihar in recent days has given way to a welcome change in weather. Over the past two days, several districts including Bettiah, Begusarai, Sitamarhi, Munger, and Chhapra have been experiencing heavy rainfall, offering respite from the scorching temperatures. Even in Madhepura, showers have been prevalent, leading to a significant drop in temperatures, now hovering around 40 degrees Celsius.

The capital city, Patna, has also been shrouded in dark clouds since morning, signaling the likelihood of impending rain. The Meteorological Department has affirmed the possibility of rainfall within the next hour.

In light of the weather forecast, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for 19 districts across the state. Residents of Katihar, Purnia, Araria, Madhepura, Kishanganj, Supaul, Saharsa, East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Muzaffarpur, Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, and Madhubani have been cautioned about anticipated rain, thunder, lightning, and wind speeds ranging from 40 to 50 kilometers per hour.
