Chhapra: A horrific incident unfolded early Saturday morning on SH 104 near Pokhdera Baghi Misri Tola Primary School, as a woman tragically lost her life in a car fire. Identified as Soni Kumari, a 28-year-old resident of Pakolia Goraipur village under the jurisdiction of Avtar Nagar police station, she succumbed to severe burns at the scene of the incident.

According to reports, Soni Kumari and her husband, Deepak Kumar Rai, were returning from a trip to Ayodhya. They had embarked on their journey from her parents’ residence in Mora Basant village under the Gadkha police station. Their return journey was marred by tragedy when their vehicle, en route to her in-laws’ house, caught fire near Baghi, emitting smoke suddenly.

Deepak Kumar Rai recounted the harrowing sequence of events, stating they had stopped briefly in Gorakhpur before the car began emitting smoke. He attempted to rescue his wife from the vehicle, but the fire engulfed it quickly, leading to Soni Kumari’s tragic demise. Deepak himself sustained injuries while trying to save her and received immediate medical attention at Referral Hospital Taraiya.

Upon receiving the distressing news, local authorities arrived at the scene, initiating an investigation into the incident. The body of Soni Kumari was transferred to Chhapra for a postmortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death and gather crucial evidence.
