Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Inspects Chhath Ghats in Patna
Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday conducted a comprehensive inspection of the revered Chhath festival ghats on the bank of river Ganga at Patna, ensuring that all arrangements are in place for the forthcoming Chhath festival.
Accompanied by a team of high-ranking officials, Chief Minister (CM) Nitish personally assessed various ghats along Ganga, commencing from Minar Ghat in Digha, extending through Nasriganj, and concluding at Kangan Ghat by steamer. During this inspection, the Chief Minister issued vital directives to the officials concerning the maintenance, security, and cleanliness of these ghats.
Emphasizing the significance of facilitating the Chhath fasting rituals, CM Nitish stressed the importance of ensuring that devotees do not encounter any impediments while offering their prayers. He directed the officials to make special provisions for the Chhath fasts, including the construction of safe Chhath ghats that consider the water level and flow of river Ganga.
The safety and well-being of Chhath devotees remained a top priority, and the Chief Minister advocated the creation of robust barricades near Chhath Ghats. He further recommended the placement of barricades along access roads and paths running along the Ganges’ banks to facilitate the seamless movement of Chhath devotees.
Additionally, CM Nitish stressed the importance of providing devotees with all necessary amenities to enhance their Chhath experience. The inspection witnessed the presence of several high-ranking officials, including Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Bihar State Disaster Management Authority member Manish Kumar Verma, Chief Secretary Aamir Subhani, Director General of Police R.S. Bhatti, Additional Chief Secretary of the Water Resources Department Chaitanya Prasad, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. S. Siddharth, Additional Chief Secretary of the Road Construction Department, Disaster Management, and Health Department Pratyaya Amrit, among others.
