Chirag Paswan Attributes Chief Secretary’s Meeting with BPSC Aspirants to His Intervention
Patna: Union minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan has urged the Bihar government to address the ongoing agitation by BPSC aspirants, emphasizing the need for immediate intervention to resolve their grievances.
In a statement issued on Monday, Chirag said he has appealed to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to take swift action, resulting in the Chief Secretary initiating a dialogue with the protesting candidates. “Soon, the meaningful results of this initiative will be seen,” he said, highlighting the government’s sensitivity towards the concerns of the youth.
While expressing solidarity with the aspirants, Chirag urged them to present their demands peacefully and refrain from being influenced by political figures. “This issue is entirely about the future of Bihar’s youth and its development, and politics must be kept aside to resolve it,” he added.
Chirag also criticized the recent police crackdown on protesters in Patna, which involved lathicharges and water cannons. Calling the use of force “inappropriate,” he urged law enforcement to exercise restraint and engage with students peacefully. “Efforts should be made to solve their problems through dialogue, not through force,” he said, further requesting the Chief Minister to take legal action against police officers found guilty of misconduct.
The LJP (R) leader accused certain political figures and parties of misleading the students for political gain, stating that such actions were “wrong and unacceptable.” Reaffirming his party’s support for the youth, Chirag concluded by stressing that resolving the issue is crucial for the future of Bihar.
