Chirag Paswan Declares NDA’s Bihar Assembly Election Bid Under Nitish Kumar’s Leadership
Hajipur: Union Minister and National President of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Chirag Paswan, has made a significant statement in Patna, declaring that the NDA will contest the Bihar assembly elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Chirag emphasised that the people believe Bihar’s development is achievable only through a “double engine government.”
Addressing the JD (U)’s demand for special state status for Bihar, Chirag remarked, “This demand is of the people. Which party from Bihar does not advocate for special state status? We are in favour of it. This is not a pressure tactic.”
Criticising the opposition, Chirag noted the predictions made during the Lok Sabha elections, where it was claimed the NDA wouldn’t secure any seats. He highlighted the reality: “We won most of the seats in Bihar. My party won all five seats it contested.”
Chirag’s comments came during his first visit to Hajipur after winning the Lok Sabha seat, where he attended a felicitation ceremony at Sanskrit College, Subhash Chowk. He was welcomed with grand fanfare, including elephants, horses, and bands. He paid tribute to his father, Ram Vilas Paswan, by garlanding his statue at Chirag Chowk.
Expressing gratitude in Hajipur, Chirag said, “Thank you to those who voted for me, and I aim to win the hearts of those who did not in the next five years.” He assured the constituents that despite his ministerial role, he remains committed to serving as their son and brother, ready to address their issues.
Chirag concluded, “We are here to work and will continue to do so.”
