Chirag Paswan Hosts Grand Dahi-Chuda Feast Amidst Political Gathering in Patna
Patna: Makar Sankranti may have concluded, but the festive spirit lingered on as the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) national president and Jamui MP, Chirag Paswan, played host to an extravagant dahi-chuda feast in Patna on Wednesday. The event, held at Chirag’s residence, attracted a significant political gathering, with key leaders from various NDA constituent parties in attendance.
Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar graced the occasion, joining the ranks of prominent figures like former Chief Minister and HAM patron Jitan Ram Manjhi, BJP State President Samrat Chaudhary, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Vijay Kumar Sinha, RLJD national president and former Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha, and JAP national president and former MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav. Engaging in political discussions over the sumptuous dahi-chuda feast, leaders, including alias Pappu Yadav, delved into pressing matters concerning the state.
Chirag took the opportunity to critique Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s recent policy announcement, attributing it solely to electoral interests in the lead-up to elections. Chirag questioned the efficacy of providing Rs 2 lakh to poor families, asserting that a more permanent solution is needed for impoverished households. He emphasized the importance of increasing per capita income and revenue, challenging the Chief Minister’s vision for achieving these goals.
Expressing skepticism towards Nitish’s sudden concern for the poor, Chirag said, “It’s election time. They are bringing such schemes for electoral gains.” He underscored the dire state of Bihar’s agriculture and denounced the notion of securing votes through financial incentives, calling for enduring solutions for impoverished families.
RLJD national president and former Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha echoed Chirag’s sentiments, remarking on Nitish’s delayed recognition of poverty in Bihar. Kushwaha accused the government of pursuing electoral gains through such schemes, emphasizing the shift in political priorities.
Adding to the criticism, BJP State President Samrat Chaudhary labeled Nitish’s government as fraudulent, highlighting the discrepancy between the government’s claims and the ground reality. Chaudhary argued that despite the government’s assertions of creating job opportunities, the actual employment figures remain significantly lower.
