Chirag Paswan Returns to Patna as Union Minister; Addresses NEET Paper Leak Controversy, Announces New Plans for Bihar’s Farmers
Patna: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Chirag Paswan arrived in Patna today for the first time since becoming a Union Minister. He was accompanied by all four of his party’s MPs, and received a warm welcome from party workers at the airport.
Reaction on NEET Paper Leak: Addressing the recent NEET paper leak controversy, Chirag Paswan emphasized the gravity of the issue, stating that ensuring justice for all affected students is the government’s top priority. “This matter is being overseen by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The central government is in talks with all stakeholders. Many students oppose the idea of a re-examination, and any decision made will prioritize the interests of the students,” he assured.
Paswan further mentioned that the investigation into the paper leak is ongoing, with several parties involved and some cases already in court. He reiterated the government’s commitment to making the right decision at the appropriate time.
Commitment to Farmers’ Welfare: Chirag Paswan also highlighted his new role as the Minister of Food Processing Industries, underlining the importance of agriculture to India. He announced plans to establish numerous food processing units across the country, including in Bihar. “Whether it’s bananas from Hajipur, litchis from Muzaffarpur, makhana, or mangoes, processing and packaging these products locally will not only boost farmers’ incomes but also increase the state’s revenue,” he explained.
Response to Bridge Collapses in Bihar: Commenting on the repeated incidents of bridge collapses in Bihar, Paswan expressed his dismay, calling the situation unfortunate. He stated, “I trust that both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister are monitoring this closely. Those found guilty of corruption and compromising on quality will face strict action. Future constructions under our double-engine government will ensure adherence to the highest quality standards.”
Paswan also mentioned the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar next year, indicating that the LJP would be vigorously preparing to replicate its success from the Lok Sabha elections. “PM Modi has met with many MPs and provided valuable guidance. We are determined to achieve victory in the assembly elections as well,” he concluded.
