CID Takes Over Investigation of Sasaram Shooting Incident Involving Traffic DSP
Patna: The Bihar government has transferred the investigation into a fatal shooting incident in Sasaram, Rohtas district, to the Crime Investigation Department (CID). The incident, which occurred on the night of December 27, involved a Traffic DSP, Md. Adil Belal, and a group of youths celebrating a birthday.
The clash resulted in the death of one youth and injuries to two others. The government’s decision to hand over the case to the CID underscores the seriousness of the matter, given the involvement of a high-ranking police officer.
The incident took place near Kargahar Mor, within the Sasaram Nagar police station area, as the youths were en route to the station. DSP Belal’s bodyguard was also present at the time of the altercation.
The confrontation escalated, leading to gunfire that tragically resulted in one fatality and injuries to Atul, who was shot in the hand, and Vinod, who was shot in the leg. Both injured individuals received hospital treatment.

A case was also registered against the Traffic DSP. In response to the gravity of the situation, police headquarters promptly summoned DSP Adil Belal and constable Chandramauli Pagia to headquarters pending further investigation.
