Motihari: On New Year’s Day, the renowned Areraj Someshwar Nath Mahadev Temple in Motihari, Bihar, witnessed an overwhelming turnout of devotees. More than 200,000 worshippers performed jalabhishek (ritual offering of water) to Lord Shiva, seeking blessings for happiness, prosperity, and peace.

The temple precincts were brimming with energy and devotion, with a noticeable enthusiasm among the younger generation. The event highlighted the deep faith of devotees in one of Bihar’s most significant spiritual landmarks.

Smooth Arrangements for Devotees

To ensure an organized experience, the temple gates were opened early in the morning, said the temple’s chief priest, Ravishankar Giri. Separate queues for men and women were arranged to facilitate orderly movement. Special arghya (offering arrangements) were set up for the jalabhishek, allowing worshippers to perform their prayers seamlessly.

Enhanced Security Measures

In anticipation of the large crowds, authorities implemented tight security arrangements. The temple complex and surrounding areas were monitored through CCTV cameras, while police personnel were deployed at key points to manage the influx of devotees and ensure their safety.

A Display of Faith and Community Spirit

The massive gathering reflected the deep reverence devotees hold for Areraj Someshwar Nath Mahadev. Many worshippers prayed for the welfare and prosperity of their families and communities. The collaboration between temple management and local authorities ensured that the event was conducted in an orderly and smooth manner.

The enthusiasm and devotion displayed by the worshippers serve as a reminder of the spiritual energy that marks the beginning of the New Year. The Areeraj Someshwar Nath Mahadev Temple’s celebrations stand as a testament to faith and hope, heralding positivity for the year ahead.
