CIMP Hosts Management Development Programme to Boost Data-Driven Governance in Bihar
Patna: The Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP), in collaboration with the Planning and Development Department of the Bihar government and under NITI Aayog’s State Support Mission, inaugurated a three-day residential Management Development Programme (MDP) on Quantitative Techniques on Tuesday.
The programme, running from January January 9- 11, is designed to enhance the analytical and decision-making capabilities of government officials, strengthening governance and planning across the state. A total of 25 officials, including Joint Directors, Deputy Directors, District Statistical Officers, Assistant Directors, and Block Statistical Officers, are participating in the initiative.
As the Lead Knowledge Institute under NITI Aayog’s State Support Mission, CIMP plays a crucial role in supporting evidence-based policy-making and developmental efforts in Bihar.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including CIMP Director Prof. (Dr.) Rana Singh, Prof. Sunil Kumar, Professor of Practice at CIMP, and Associate Professor Prof. Ankit Sharma. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge.
In his welcome address, Prof. Singh highlighted the growing importance of data analytics in evidence-based decision-making. He urged participants to actively engage with the programme to strengthen their skills in quantitative methods, which are increasingly vital for effective governance.
The programme curriculum covers critical topics such as:
- Data classification and clustering: Techniques for grouping and categorizing data.
- Optimization methods: Tools to enhance decision-making processes.
- Data visualization: Strategies to represent complex data through graphs and charts.
- Regression analysis: Exploring relationships between variables.
- Decision tree methodologies: Structured approaches to data-based decision-making.
The programme also emphasizes collaborative learning, ensuring that participants gain hands-on experience with quantitative techniques.
The event will conclude on January 11 with a feedback session and the distribution of certificates to participants.
This initiative marks a significant step towards equipping Bihar’s government officials with advanced data analysis tools, fostering a culture of data-driven governance and informed decision-making across the state.
