CM Nitish Assures: Seat Sharing Decision Imminent, All’s Well in NDA; Cabinet Expansion Looms
Patna: Amidst mounting uncertainty surrounding the cabinet expansion and seat sharing within the NDA alliance in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has broken his silence on the matter. During his visit to the Assembly to collect the certificate of MLC, Nitish addressed queries regarding seat sharing, affirming that all issues would be resolved imminently, emphasizing the cohesion within the NDA coalition.
Despite Nitish’s assurance of a swift resolution by the evening, no concrete information emerged by late night. Meanwhile, Santosh Suman, the national president of HAM, an ally party of the NDA, reiterated their unwavering support, stating that seat sharing discussions would be finalized within the next two days.
However, the impasse persists within the NDA ranks. Following a meeting between BJP national president JP Nadda and Chirag Paswan, claims surfaced of an impending resolution. Nonetheless, rumors suggest discord, with reports indicating dissatisfaction from Jitan Ram Manjhi, causing tensions over the proposed seat sharing formula.
In response to the brewing discontent, Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary paid a visit to Manjhi’s residence, engaging in a 40-minute conversation to address concerns. Emerging from the meeting, Chaudhary reassured that all was well.
Originally slated for March 14, the cabinet expansion has reportedly been postponed to March 15 due to the BJP’s delay in finalizing the list of ministers. However, no official statements have been issued by party leaders regarding the shift in schedule, leaving the situation shrouded in uncertainty.
