CM Nitish Kumar Announces Key Infrastructure Projects to Improve Transportation in Saran District
Patna: The Bihar government has made several important announcements aimed at improving transportation infrastructure in Saran district. These initiatives include new road construction, widening projects, and the development of rail overbridges to facilitate smoother traffic flow and improve connectivity within the region.
One of the key projects involves the construction of a new elevated path from Doriganj market to Vishunpura in Sadar block. This elevated path will address traffic congestion on NH-31, making it easier for vehicles traveling from Patna to Chapra. Additionally, the left Chapra section of NH-19 will undergo widening and strengthening to improve traffic movement between Patna, Chapra, Siwan, and Gopalganj.
In Ekma block, the road from Ekma to Dumaigarh will be widened and strengthened to accommodate both small and heavy vehicles. The improvement of the Ekma Mashrakh road will also enhance transportation in the area. Furthermore, the Khaira Bin Tolia road will be widened to provide better connectivity for residents traveling to Patna, Siwan, Gopalganj, and for those in Chapra seeking an alternative route to the railway station.
The government also plans to upgrade the Saran embankment’s single-lane path from the 40th to the 80th kilometer into a double-lane route. This will offer an alternative route to the public and ease traffic congestion. To further enhance travel in Chhapra city, four new rail overbridges (ROBs) will be constructed at Bhikhari Thakur Dhala, Jagadam College Dhala, Gadkha Dhala, and Ram Nagar Dhala to reduce traffic jams and ensure smooth movement.
In addition to these projects, the government will focus on the overall development of the Baba Hariharnath temple area in Sonpur. The widening of the path from NH-19 to Nakhas area will provide convenience for the temple’s devotees, making their visit more accessible. These infrastructure improvements are expected to significantly enhance the quality of transportation and boost the local economy.
