Congress Launches 'Samvidhan Leadership Programme' Ahead of Bihar Polls, Applications Open Online

Patna: In a strategic move ahead of the Bihar assembly elections, the Congress party has introduced the Samvidhan Leadership Programme, aimed at nurturing grassroots leadership among youth from marginalised communities. The initiative seeks to train and mobilise individuals from backward, Dalit, Mahadalit, minority and economically weaker sections (EWS) to take active roles in the democratic process.

According to the party, the programme is designed to connect aspiring young leaders with on-ground political and social work. Interested candidates can apply via an online form where they must submit personal details including name, age, district, caste, and social media profile links. They are also required to indicate their willingness to travel for meetings and training, and whether they are ready to join the “White T-Shirt” movement — an on-ground campaign that forms a key part of the initiative.

The Congress says it is particularly seeking applicants who are already engaged at the grassroots level — such as student leaders, social media influencers, Anganwadi workers, mid-day meal cooks, ASHA workers, and panchayat members. The aim is to build a cadre of organisers and mobilisers who can act as the voice of local communities, uphold their rights, and promote social and political awareness.
