Cooch Behar Trophy: Bihar All Out for 154, Jharkhand at 56/2

Patna: In the Cooch Behar Trophy match at Moinul Haque Stadium, Bihar was bowled out for 154 runs in their first innings after being invited to bat by Jharkhand, who won the toss. None of the Bihar batsmen managed to deliver a solid performance, with the highest partnership of 48 runs coming between Mo Alam and Prithvi Raj for the fifth wicket.
For Bihar, Satyam Kumar scored 37 runs, Prithvi Raj contributed 36, and Deepesh Gupta added 33 runs. Anubhav, Gautam, and Aditya Raj failed to open their accounts, while Ayush Raj managed 12, Taufiq 10, Mo Alam 14, and Suman Kumar scored just one. Aarav Jha remained unbeaten with 2 runs. Jharkhand’s bowlers performed exceptionally well, with Tanish taking 5 wickets, Gaurav claiming 4, and Ryan Sapkota picking up one.
Jharkhand began their first innings on a shaky note, losing their opener for a duck as Satyam Kumar struck with an LBW on his first ball. Jharkhand’s captain Vishesh Dutta was dismissed shortly after for 5, caught by Satyam off Aditya Raj. However, a crucial partnership between Krish Sharma and Vivek Kumar stabilised the innings.
By the end of the first day’s play, Jharkhand had reached 56 for 2 wickets. Krish Sharma remained unbeaten on 33, while Vivek Kumar held his ground with 22 runs. The second day’s play will continue with Jharkhand aiming to extend their lead over Bihar.
