Patna: Covid-19 is slowly spreading again in Patna. In the last 24 hours, four new people tested positive, including a six-year-old child. With this, the total number of active Covid cases in the district has increased to 34. Most of the patients are at home and are said to be in stable condition.

According to health officials, 24 patients are in home isolation and are being monitored regularly. In the last two days, six new cases have been found while 10 patients have recovered. The new infections have been reported from places like Exhibition Road, Mithapur, and Hanuman Nagar. The infected child is being treated at home, and doctors are keeping a close watch on their health.

The health department has increased testing in response to the rising cases. Rapid test kits and RT-PCR kits have been sent to major hospitals and health centres. Officials have also set up systems for quick hospital admissions if needed. Dr Avinash Kumar Singh, the Civil Surgeon, said their teams are calling home-isolated patients every day to check on their health.

Doctors have warned that the virus is still present and can infect those with weak immunity, especially children and the elderly. Senior physician Dr. Diwakar Tejaswi said people should wear masks again, wash their hands often, and avoid crowded places. IGIMS Superintendent Dr Manish Mandal also advised people to get tested if they have a cough, cold, or fever. He added that the situation is not serious yet, but people need to stay alert to prevent further spread.
