Patna: Tensions within the JD (U) have resurfaced after a cryptic post on X by Ashok Chaudhary, a key ally of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and a minister in his government. The post, featuring a poem with the line “leave them in old age,” has fueled speculation about an internal rift, with many interpreting it as a veiled criticism of Nitish Kumar.
Following the post, Nitish Kumar summoned Chaudhary to the CM House, where the two met for about 45 minutes. Afterward, Chaudhary denied any political undertones in his post and reiterated his loyalty to the CM, posting on X again with the message, “Kuch toh log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna.” However, opposition party RJD took a dig at the situation, calling it the “trailer” of a larger conflict.
JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar dismissed any notion of targeting Nitish Kumar, praising him as a leader who “lives in the hearts of the people” and noting his 19 years as Chief Minister. Neeraj Kumar emphasized that Nitish’s leadership is widely respected, and his development work speaks across Bihar.
Responding to the controversy, Chaudhary clarified that his post was being misunderstood. He reaffirmed his respect for Nitish Kumar, saying, “We consider Nitish ji as our father, how can we take a jibe at him?” Despite the clarification, the RJD continued to suggest that internal dissent is brewing within the party.
Meanwhile, Vikasheel Insaan Party leader Mukesh Sahni lent support to Chaudhary’s comments, stating that “everyone has an age,” and implying that Nitish Kumar’s long tenure might be leading to certain challenges due to age.
