Deepak Anand Assumes Charge as Secretary of Labor Resources Department, Bihar

Patna: Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Deepak Anand has taken charge as the Secretary of the Labor Resources Department in Bihar. During the handover, several key officials were present, including Rajiv Ranjan, Special Secretary-cum-Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Bihar Skill Development Mission, Special Secretary Alok Kumar, Labor Commissioner Ranjita, and Director of Planning and Training Shyam Bihari Meena, along with other senior officers.
Upon assuming his role, Deepak Anand met with department officials to gain a comprehensive understanding of the ongoing work and the various schemes under the Labor Resources Department. He reviewed the implementation of these schemes across all divisions and provided necessary guidance to make programs such as those run by the department’s boards, the child labor initiatives, and the Bihar Skill Development Mission more effective.
Anand emphasized the importance of the department’s work, noting that it impacts individuals across all sectors, particularly workers in the unorganized sector, benefiting them from birth to death. He stressed that the upcoming year will be crucial for the department, with a focus on ensuring that the maximum number of beneficiaries receive the benefits of these schemes.
To achieve this, Anand urged that all efforts be made to complete tasks on time, particularly those aimed at connecting youth with employment and self-employment opportunities. He highlighted the department’s commitment to expanding its reach and ensuring that its initiatives effectively serve the people of Bihar.
