Double-Decker Bus Service To Launch Between Digha Ghat And Kangan Ghat Next Week
Patna : Patna’s tourism scene is set to receive a boost as the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation prepares to launch a double-decker bus service along the scenic Ganga Path. The service, which will operate between the tourist ghat at Digha and Kangan Ghat, is expected to commence next week following successful trial runs.
A decorated double-decker bus, with seating arrangements on both floors, underwent a trial on JP Ganga Path on Wednesday. The trial was completed without any issues, and the permit process is currently underway. Officials have indicated that the service could be expanded depending on demand.
A panoramic view of Patna’s historic sites
The new bus service aims to provide tourists with a unique vantage point to view the historical and cultural landmarks along the banks of the Ganges. Passengers will have the opportunity to see ancient temples, mosques, gurudwaras, and other heritage buildings from the comfort of the open-top deck.
Each bus will accommodate 40 passengers, with 20 seats on the lower deck and 20 on the upper deck. The ticket price is set at Rs 100 per person, and the service will run from morning until 5 pm. Initially, the bus will make two to three trips daily, with the possibility of increasing frequency based on demand. The service will also offer snacks, available for purchase onboard.
Route and operational details
The journey will begin at the Tourism Development Corporation office at R Block before heading to the tourist ghat at Digha. From there, the bus will proceed to Kangan Ghat in Patna City, making brief stops at two or three points along the way. The return journey will follow the same route, concluding at R Block.
