Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh Reappointed as District Magistrate of Patna
Patna: Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, IAS, has been reappointed as the District Magistrate of Patna, taking over the charge once again after a five-month hiatus. Dr. Singh had previously handed over the role to Shirsat Kapil Ashok in January and will now succeed him once more.
Shirsat Kapil Ashok has been appointed the Managing Director of the Bihar State Road Development Corporation. He will also serve as the Special Secretary of the Road Construction Department. The notification for Dr. Singh’s transfer, a 2010 batch IAS officer, was issued on Republic Day. He had been serving as the Special Secretary of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
Known for his simplicity and firm stance against negligence, Dr. Singh did not hesitate to take strict actions against officers or employees who showed laxity, especially in cases of public grievances. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in the construction of the Daniyawan bypass by expediting the pending land acquisition cases.
On the other hand, Shirsat Kapil Ashok, a dynamic IAS officer of the 2011 batch, successfully conducted the Lok Sabha elections. His efforts to increase the voting percentage in two Lok Sabha seats in Patna were particularly commendable.
