Drones Deployed in Rajgir for New Year Crowd Control; Illegal Parking Fines Up to Rs 3,000
Rajgir: In response to the increasing tourist influx ahead of the New Year, the forest department in Rajgir has implemented a series of significant changes to streamline visitor management and improve the overall experience.
Among the most notable changes is the elimination of long queues, which lately begin forming as early as 2 am. Digital counters and a robust announcement system have been introduced to address this issue. Additionally, the number of tickets for the Nature Safari and Zoo Safari has been increased, and the online booking portal has been upgraded to handle higher demand seamlessly.
To bolster security, drone cameras have been deployed, and forest department personnel are stationed at the gates from 4 am onwards. Measures to address illegal parking have also been enforced, with fines of Rs. 2,000 for cars and Rs. 3,000 for buses.
Visitor data highlights the increasing popularity of the safaris. On December 22, 1,404 tourists visited the Nature Safari, and 2,743 visited the Zoo Safari. By December 25, the numbers were 1,370 and 2,654, respectively.
Approximately 4,400 tourists are using the ropeway daily to reach the Vishwa Shanti Stupa. In anticipation of the growing crowd, a new parking area spanning 2.3 hectares has been developed. Facilities such as drinking water and toilets have also been added near Gate No. 5 parking for the convenience of visitors.
