Drunk Groom Arrested on Wedding Day in Sasaram, Bride Calls Off Marriage

Sasaram: A wedding in the Agrer police station area turned into chaos after the groom arrived drunk, leading to his arrest and cancellation of the ceremony.
The groom, Abhishek Pandey, had travelled with his wedding procession from Mustafabad in Gaya to Mokar, where he was set to marry the daughter of Ashok Tiwari, a resident of Dihri. Upon arrival at the marriage hall, locals noticed that Abhishek and his friend Gyan Shankar were under the influence of alcohol.
Police were informed and a team from the Agrer police station promptly reached the venue. A bottle of liquor was recovered from the groom’s car, following which both Abhishek and Gyan were arrested on the spot.
The situation escalated further when a woman from Gaya appeared at the venue claiming to be the groom’s girlfriend. She created a public scene, adding to the commotion and shocking the bride’s family.
As a result of the incident, the wedding was immediately called off. The groom and his friend were taken to the police station and later sent to jail. Authorities also seized the groom’s vehicle as part of the investigation.
