Encroachment Removal Campaign Conducted Across Patna for Sixth Day

Patna: On the direction of the Divisional Commissioner, Patna Division, Mayank Warvade, a multi-agency special encroachment removal campaign continued in Patna city for the sixth consecutive day. The campaign aims to ensure systematic traffic management and prevent future encroachments. Officials from various departments, including Administration, Municipal Corporation, Traffic Police, Transport, and Revenue, actively participated in the drive.

The campaign was conducted across multiple zones in Patna under the supervision of sub-divisional officers and sub-divisional police officers. In Kankarbagh zone, encroachments were removed from Rajendra Nagar Station to Dhanuki Mor, leading to the seizure of a stall and a wooden box, and the collection of fines amounting to Rs. 7,000.

In Danapur Nagar Parishad, temporary encroachments such as illegal banners, bricks, sand, and bamboo structures were removed from Khagari Road to T-Point. A fine of Rs. 3,500 was collected, and several items were seized during the campaign.

The Azimabad zone saw encroachments cleared from Danka Imli Gaighat to Church Hospital via Ashok Rajpath. This included the removal of banners, handcarts, and stalls. Fines amounting to Rs. 4,400 were imposed in this zone. Similarly, in the Patna City zone, temporary encroachments were removed from Kangan Ghat to Chowk, with Rs. 6,000 collected in fines.

A total fine of Rs. 20,900 was collected across all zones during the day’s operations. A special vehicle-checking campaign was also conducted by the traffic police to ensure smooth traffic flow alongside the encroachment removal efforts.

The Commissioner has instructed officers to take strict legal action against those causing obstructions during the campaign. Follow-up teams under the leadership of concerned officers remain active to prevent re-encroachment. FIRs will be filed against repeat offenders, and station heads have been directed to document all encroachment removal activities in their records.

To ensure the effectiveness of the campaign, a five-member monitoring cell has been formed under the supervision of the District Magistrate, Patna, Chandrashekhar Singh. Members include officials from municipal administration, law enforcement, traffic management, and municipal corporations. They will ensure seamless coordination and vigilance throughout the campaign.

The administration reiterated its commitment to systematic traffic management and zero tolerance for encroachments. Special teams have been deployed across municipal areas to carry out the campaign efficiently, and strict measures will be taken against violators to maintain order in the city.
