Farmers and Firms Invited to Apply for 1MW Solar Plant Scheme in Bihar
Patna: Farmers and firms in Bihar have been invited to set up 1MW solar power plants as part of a government initiative aimed at increasing agricultural income and promoting renewable energy. Applications for the scheme will remain open until 8 January, with a requirement of four acres of land per megawatt.
The Bihar State Power Generation Company has issued a tender to solarize 3,681 agricultural and mixed feeders connected to 1,121 power substations. Detailed information can be obtained by messaging the company via WhatsApp at 7320924004.
Key Features of the Scheme
Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM), financial support of ₹1.05 crore per megawatt will be provided by the central government, while the Bihar government will contribute ₹45 lakh per megawatt. Selected applicants must complete the installation of the solar plant within 12 months.
The generated electricity will be connected to an 11 kV line, and the South and North Bihar Power Distribution Companies will purchase the electricity under a 25-year agreement.

Interested individuals or firms can apply through the Bihar e-procurement portal at https://eproc2.bihar.gov.in. Tender details can be accessed via the portal using Tender ID 78252. Participation is open to single companies or consortia of up to three members.
