Good News for Darbhanga: Construction of Five Railway Overbridges Set to Begin Soon
DARBHANGA – MP Dr Gopalji Thakur shared positive developments at a Railways-related Standing Committee meeting in New Delhi. He discussed various issues, emphasizing passenger and rail facilities, initiating proposed rail development projects in Darbhanga and the Mithila region, and completing ongoing rail projects.
The highlight of the announcement is the upcoming construction of five railway overbridges in Darbhanga at locations including Donar, Pandasarai, Bela, Kangwa, and Delhi Mod. Dr. Thakur informed that the tender process for all the overbridges, except Donar, has been completed. Funding from the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Road and Transport, and the Bihar government’s Central Road and Infrastructure Fund will support these projects.
Additionally, plans include the construction of a low-cost overbridge at Museum Gumti, with a budget of Rs 17 crore, currently in the tender process. Another low-cost overbridge is underway in Laheriyasarai, estimated at Rs 5.5 crore.
