Harsh Raj Murder: Patna University Orders Hostel Evacuation
Patna: In the wake of the tragic murder of student Harsh Raj, the Patna University administration has taken decisive action, ordering all students to vacate their hostels by May 31. The directive, issued by the Vice Chancellor, mandates that students clear out their belongings by 4 pm on the specified date. Boys’ hostels will remain closed until further notice.
The police investigation into Harsh Raj’s murder has also intensified. On Wednesday, officers conducted a thorough search of several hostels, including Jackson and Patel, in an effort to apprehend the suspects. The main gates were secured, and each room was meticulously inspected. Student ID cards were checked during the operation, although no arrests were made. Additionally, police raids are being carried out in various districts across Bihar.
City SP East Bharat Soni reported that raids were conducted in five hostels within Patna University. Intelligence suggested that the murder conspiracy was planned within the hostel, and some of the perpetrators were still on campus. There were also reports of weapons being stored in the hostels. Despite a significant police presence, no weapons or suspects have been found so far.
