Heat Wave Forces Educational Restrictions in Patna District, DM Issues Directive

School timings changed due to scorching heat

Patna: As the blistering heatwave tightens its grip on Patna district, District Magistrate Kapil Ashok has intervened, issuing directives affecting educational activities in the region. In response to the sweltering conditions, a comprehensive order has been rolled out, impacting schools across the board.

The order stipulates a ban on educational activities for students up to class 10 in all private, government schools, and Anganwadi centers from 10:30 am to 4 pm. Similarly, classes 11 and 12 face restrictions from 11:30 am to 4 pm, effectively halting in-person schooling during these hours.

However, the directive does not extend to online educational endeavors. Both government and non-government educational institutions are permitted to continue teaching students via online platforms during the specified hours. The DM has also provided guidance to facilitate this transition.

This directive, effective from April 1 to April 8, aims to safeguard students from the adverse effects of the scorching temperatures while ensuring the continuity of their education through alternative means.
