Heatwave Continues in Patna as Meteorological Department Forecasts Relief on Sunday
Patna: Patna residents are bracing for another scorching day as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts clear skies and intense sunshine with temperatures reaching around 39 degrees C, mirroring the conditions observed on Friday.
Similar weather patterns are anticipated across Bihar, offering little respite from the sweltering heat. However, a glimmer of relief is on the horizon for Sunday, as the department forecasts less intense sunshine and cloudy skies, providing a potential reprieve from the scorching temperatures.
On Sunday, an alert for lightning and thunder has been issued in 12 districts, including Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, and others, with the possibility of strong winds at speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. Despite this, other districts are expected to experience normal weather conditions.
The anticipated change in wind patterns, attributed to cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal, is expected to bring moisture into the air, potentially leading to light rain and thunderstorms across Bihar from May 6 to May 9.
Friday saw sweltering temperatures across the state, with Buxar recording a maximum of 41.8 degrees C. Other notable temperatures include 36.8 degrees C in Muzaffarpur, 40 degrees C in Gaya, and 39.7 degrees C in Patna.
