Gaya: In anticipation of the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on Monday, Gaya district is under special surveillance and vigilance. Authorities have taken precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the region. Despite concerns, the flow of passengers traveling from Gaya to Uttar Pradesh has not seen a significant increase.

To reinforce a sense of security among the public, station house officers organized a Flag March in their respective jurisdictions on Sunday. District police officials, along with railway force security personnel, are on high alert on Monday to manage any potential disruptions.

Various events, including temple pujas and shobha yatras, have been scheduled at multiple locations throughout the district. In adherence to instructions from state chief secretary Amir Subhani and director general of police Rajwinder Singh Bhatti, a meeting was held via video conferencing on Sunday. District Magistrate Thiyagarajan SM, alongside Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ashish Bharti, addressed administrative, police, and railway officials during the meeting.

Thiyagarajan SM said, “So far, there is information about worship at 33 places and shobha yatra at 15 places. All sensitive points will be kept under strict surveillance.” He emphasized the necessity of obtaining a license from the concerned police station for organizing shobha yatras. Sub-divisional police officers (SDPOs) will verify the procession routes, and significant processions will be escorted by officers at the circle or block development level.

SSP Ashish Bharti said, “There is information about a significant event at Azad Park in Gaya town, in addition to worship in temples at various locations. Police officers have been instructed to visit religious places and event venues in their areas. Continuous monitoring of social media platforms, including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and WhatsApp groups, is being conducted to ensure the safety and security of the public during this event.”
