Patna : The Bihar government has approved a Rs223 crore plan to construct hostels for working women in 10 industrial areas across the state, aiming to provide safe and convenient accommodation for the increasing number of women entering the workforce.

The decision comes in response to the growing industrialization of Bihar, which has not only strengthened the state’s law and order but also encouraged more women to pursue entrepreneurship and industrial work. As a result, the need for secure housing in industrial zones has become increasingly apparent.

The project, which will be executed by the Infrastructure Development Authority (IDA), Patna, involves the construction of five-storey (G+4) hostels in 10 industrial zones. Each hostel, with a capacity of 200 beds, will cost Rs22.30 crore, bringing the total project cost to Rs223 crore.
