Hulas Pandey Resigns as Chairman of State Parliamentary Board of LJP (Ram Vilas) Amid Brahmeshwar Mukhiya Murder Allegations, Declares Innocence

Patna: Former Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Hulas Pandey has stepped down from his role as the president of the state parliamentary board of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) following his implication in the Brahmeshwar Mukhiya murder case. Pandey, addressing the media during a press conference held at the party office on Monday, vehemently denied the allegations brought forth by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), asserting his innocence.

The CBI, a decade after the murder, recently filed a supplementary charge sheet in the District and Sessions Court of Ara, naming eight individuals, including Pandey, as accused in the case. Pandey, recounting the events surrounding the murder, claimed to have been at his residence with government security personnel on the day Brahmeshwar Mukhiya was killed.

Addressing the media, Pandey alleged that a political conspiracy has been orchestrated against him, categorically refuting the CBI’s claims. He asserted that the timing of these allegations, especially as elections approach, is an attempt to tarnish the party’s image by associating it with his name. Pandey expressed his determination to prevent such efforts, stating, “I will not let this happen.” Immediately upon the filing of the charge sheet, he submitted his resignation from the position of the party’s parliamentary board to the national president.

Pandey, emphasizing his commitment to the party, stated, “The party is like my mother. I have a moral responsibility, so I have sent my resignation on the basis of my morality.” He also questioned the motives behind the allegations, suggesting that certain officials might be working to defame the party by associating it with political opponents.

Despite acknowledging the CBI’s investigation, Pandey insisted that there is no opposition from the investigative agency itself. He attributed the accusations to a select few officials attempting to besmirch the party’s reputation, vowing to stand firm against such endeavors.
