IIM Bodh Gaya Celebrates Independence Day with Cultural Events and Competitions
Bodhgaya: In celebration of India’s 78th Independence Day, IIM Bodh Gaya held a vibrant and unifying event on campus, reflecting on the nation’s journey since 1947. The day marked a tribute to the sacrifices and achievements that have shaped modern India, with the institute adorned in tricolour, supporting the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
The celebration commenced with a warm welcome by Professor Sreelekha Mishra, Chairperson of Students’ Affairs, setting the tone for the day’s events. Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, then hoisted the national flag, a symbolic gesture underscored by the collective singing of the national anthem.
In her address, Dr. Sahay emphasized the importance of discipline and leadership, urging the community to envision a progressive future for both the institution and the nation. Her words resonated deeply, highlighting the dual pillars of visionary leadership and service to the country.
The day continued with a spirited cultural program featuring traditional dances, patriotic songs, and skits, celebrating the diversity and cultural richness of India. The program not only entertained but also reminded everyone of the shared heritage that binds the nation.
A series of “Back to School” competitions added an element of fun and camaraderie to the day. The Tug of War competition, alongside the Sack Race, Lemon and Spoon Race, and Painting Competition, saw enthusiastic participation from staff and students alike. A friendly badminton match between faculty and students further fostered community spirit.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, acknowledging the winners of the various competitions. As the sun set on the celebrations, participants took a solemn pledge to uphold the values of unity and to contribute to the nation’s ongoing progress, embodying the spirit of Independence Day.
