Independence Day Celebrations to Feature 11 Departments Tableaux

Patna: In light of the government’s decision, 11 departments of the Government of Bihar will display tableaux at the main state function organized at Gandhi Maidan, Patna, on August 15. The event, part of the Independence Day celebrations, aims to highlight various developmental and public welfare schemes, social reform campaigns, and women empowerment programs.
The participating departments and their themes include the Prohibition, Excise, and Registration Department showcasing Bihar’s progress towards becoming drug-free, the Social Welfare Department highlighting skill training and new employment opportunities for women, and the Industries Department presenting the expansion of the textile industry. Other departments like the Bihar Education Project Council, Department of Art, Culture, and Youth, and Agriculture Directorate will focus on quality education, film promotion policies, and maize cultivation, respectively.
District Magistrate Patna, Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, stated that all preparations for the tableau presentation are underway, ensuring effective and engaging displays. A committee led by Deputy Development Commissioner, Patna, Tanay Sultania, is overseeing the construction and display process, with regular reviews to maintain high standards.
Rehearsals for the tableaux will be conducted on August 13, with strict security measures in place, including an anti-sabotage check before the entry of tableaux into Gandhi Maidan. Additionally, the maximum height of the tableau structures is capped at 15 feet, and the age of participating artists is restricted to 15 years and above.
