Inter-College Sports and Cultural Meet Enthralls Participants in Bihar Agricultural University

Sabour: The third day of the Inter-College Sports and Cultural Meet 2024-25, held at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, saw an electrifying atmosphere with participants displaying peak enthusiasm. Students excelling in academics are also leaving a lasting impression on the field with their athletic performances. Girls who lead in academics are now proving their mettle in track events as well.
In the 400-meter race, Priyanshu Kumari from Dr. Kalam Agricultural College, Kishanganj, Priya Bharti from Horticulture College, Noorsarai, and Ankita Kumari from Dr. Kalam Agricultural College, Kishanganj, secured the first, second, and third positions, respectively, in the girls’ category. Among boys, Sujit Kumar Ram from Bhola Paswan Shastri Agricultural College, Purnia, Nunu Kumar from Veer Kunwar Singh Agricultural College, Dumraon (Buxar), and Prince Kumar from Dr. Kalam Agricultural College, Kishanganj, claimed the top three positions.
In the discus throw event, Priyanshu Kumari from Dr. Kalam Agricultural College, Kishanganj, won first place, while Shalini Kumari and Ayushi Anand from the College of Agricultural Biotechnology, Sabour, secured second and third places, respectively, in the girls’ category. Among boys, Akash Kumar from Bhola Paswan Shastri Agricultural College, Purnia, took the top spot, followed by Suman Kumar and Dhyan Shankar Kumar from Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour (Postgraduate), in second and third positions. Events like kabaddi, badminton, volleyball, shot put, and cultural competitions, including group dance, debate, elocution, and quiz, were also successfully conducted.
In the men’s volleyball category of the Inter College Sports and Games competition, BAC (PG), Sabour secured the gold medal by defeating MBAC, Saharsa 25-15, 25-16 in straight sets. In the women’s category, CABT, Sabour emerged victorious, defeating COAE, Arrah to claim the top position.
A cultural evening was organized, featuring dance competitions, one-act plays, and short dramas. Participants from various colleges mesmerized the audience with their performances. The closing ceremony of the Inter-College Sports and Cultural Meet will be held on Friday, where championship titles will be announced, and students will be honored with certificates and gold, silver, and bronze medals.
The smooth execution of all competitions was ensured under the leadership of Dean of Agriculture, Dr. Ajay Kumar Sah, Director of Student Welfare, Dr. J.N. Srivastava, and key officials, including Dr. Chandan Kishore, Dr. Awadhesh Pal, Dr. Shambhu Prasad, and Dr. T. Chattopadhyay.
