PATNA – In a proactive move to bolster Bihar’s tourism sector, Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav engaged in a comprehensive discussion on the state’s tourism policy with tour operators and hoteliers at the Lemon Tree Hotel near Gandhi Maidan, Patna.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Chief Minister extended a warm welcome to tourism stakeholders from across the country, emphasizing the government’s commitment to facilitating investments. He assured attendees that the newly formulated tourism policy aimed at fostering development in religious and eco-tourism sectors is now in place. Yadav highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure around tourist destinations and urged the collaboration of tour and hotel operators in Bihar’s development journey.

Yadav affirmed, “Come to invest in the tourism sector, we guarantee you that there will be no problem in Bihar. The government will walk with you step by step, and we give you a full guarantee that you will not face any problem.”

The Deputy Chief Minister acknowledged that while Bihar has been witnessing a continuous influx of tourists, efforts are underway to transform the state’s tourist spots into vibrant centers that attract longer stays. Drawing parallels with Dubai’s transformation from a desert to a global attraction, Yadav expressed the government’s vision to make Bihar more accessible, secure, and well-equipped for tourists.

He shared insights into ongoing initiatives in eco-tourism, particularly in the Valmikinagar Tiger Reserve, and highlighted branding efforts to promote Bihar’s tourist destinations nationally and internationally. Yadav stressed the significance of the tourism sector, revealing that more than 2 lakh jobs have been generated in the last 70 days.

Industries Minister Sameer Kumar Mahaseth urged investors to focus on the Buddha Circuit, emphasizing the vast potential it holds with tourists from 70 countries associated with it. Agriculture Minister Kumar Sarvjit praised the work undertaken by the Tourism Department under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Yadav, suggesting the inclusion of the tea industry in the tourism policy.

IT Minister Israil Mansuri highlighted the state’s robust infrastructure facilities and encouraged investors to capitalize on the recently introduced IT policy along with the tourism policy.

Tourism Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh provided an overview of the tourism policy, emphasizing Bihar’s commitment to becoming a spiritual and cultural tourism hub. He underscored ongoing efforts in skill development and the utilization of security technology to boost tourism.

The event concluded with Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation’s Managing Director Nand Kishor extending gratitude, and Director Vinay Kumar Rai delivering the vote of thanks.
