Jitan Ram Manjhi Claims HAM (S) Can Secure Chief Minister’s Post With 20-25 Seats

Gaya: Hindustani Awam Morcha- Secular(HAM-S) patron and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has set his sights on a bigger role in Bihar politics, asserting that if his party wins 20-25 seats in the upcoming assembly elections, it could stake a claim for the chief minister’s post.

Speaking at the Garib Chetna Sammelan at Ranglal High School ground in Sherghati, Gaya, Manjhi declared that the Bhuinya-Mushar community would no longer be a mere vote bank but a kingmaker in state politics. “If less educated people can become chief minister, why not one from our party? We have lawyers, doctors, engineers—everyone,” he said, addressing the crowd in Magahi.

Sherghati as a District and Equal Education Law

As part of his electoral pitch, Manjhi made two key promises—granting district status to Sherghati and implementing an equal education law to bridge the gap between rich and poor. He also announced plans to set up a training centre on 35 acres, promising employment for 10,000 people.

HAM Minister Santosh Kumar Suman fired up the gathering, urging supporters to keep their political momentum alive. “Koi boltai re…” he called out, echoing a rallying cry, and termed the conference “historic.” He asserted that the Musahar community would vote wherever HAM-S stands.
