Junior Doctors Strike at PMCH Over Unpaid Stipends, OPD Services Disrupted

Patna: Junior doctors at Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH), have gone on strike, bringing outpatient department (OPD) services to a halt. Patients are facing difficulties as protesting doctors demand the release of their stipends, which have been pending for four months.
The striking doctors accused the PMCH administration of neglecting their concerns despite multiple ultimatums. “We have no option left but to go on strike. No one is listening to us,” a protesting doctor said.
Another intern at PMCH highlighted the financial strain on students. “We have not received our stipends for four months. Despite repeated notices to the authorities, no action has been taken. Our medical studies are long and demanding, and this delay is causing serious hardship,” she said.
The protesting doctors expressed frustration over the repeated delays, stating that they are struggling to manage expenses. “It does not feel right to keep asking for money from home. Receiving stipends on time would ease a lot of our difficulties,” one of them said.
The strike is set to continue until the stipends are released, with doctors warning of further disruptions if their demands are not met.
