Kitab Club Inaugurated at Patna Women’s College with Workshop by Renowned Poet and Writer

Patna: Patna Women’s College, affiliated with Patna University, inaugurated its Kitab Club on October 28, 2024, with a guest lecture and workshop held in Carmel Hall. Dr. Vinay Kumar, a celebrated poet and writer with five poetry books and two prose books, led the session. Dr. Kumar, also editor of seven psychiatry books, has been honored with multiple awards, including the Indian Medical Association’s Ramchandra N Murthy Award in 2007 for social work and the Ayodhya Prasad Khatri Samman in 2015 for his book “Ek Manochikitsak Ke Notes.”

The event, moderated by Mariyum Fatima, began with a warm welcome by Dr. Priyanka, Assistant Professor in the Department of History and Kitab Club Coordinator, who presented Dr. Kumar with a plant sapling. In his lecture, Dr. Kumar shared his experiences as a writer, offering valuable insights into the craft of poetry and prose.

Following the lecture, a lively question-and-answer session allowed students to delve deeper into topics of writing and creativity, making it an enriching experience for all attendees.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mahrukh Firdaus, leaving participants inspired and marking a successful launch for the Kitab Club.
