Teacher Suspended After Viral Video Insulting Bihar Sparks Outrage

Patna: A teacher at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jehanabad, Bihar, has been suspended with immediate effect after a video surfaced in which she made derogatory remarks about the state and its people.

The teacher, identified as Deepali Sah (24), a resident of Darjeeling, West Bengal, teaches primary students at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Enwan, Jehanabad. In the viral videos, which were reportedly shared from her Instagram account, she expressed anger over her posting in Bihar, calling the state the “dirtiest region of India” and making offensive comments about its residents.

“Why was I posted in a district like Jehanabad? They could have sent me to Ladakh, Goa, Odisha, Bengal, or anywhere else. But why here?” she said in the video.

She went on to claim that Bihar’s people “lack civic sense” and that if Bihar were removed from India, the country would “become a developing nation.” Deepali also criticized the Kendriya Vidyalaya system, questioning why her colleagues received postings in cities like Bengaluru and Darjeeling while she was sent to Jehanabad.

The videos triggered widespread outrage, with social media users and locals condemning her statements. As the controversy escalated, the media attempted to reach out to Deepali, but she dismissed the issue as a “personal matter.”

Following the backlash, authorities suspended Deepali with immediate effect.
