Labour Resources Department Hosts Workshop on Women’s Training, Employment, and Rights Ahead of International Women’s Day

Patna: A workshop on ‘Training and Awareness of Women’ was held at the Pratibimb Auditorium of the Department of Labour Resources in Patna on Friday, ahead of International Women’s Day 2025. The event focused on skill development, employment, and women’s rights, aiming to enhance awareness and self-reliance among women.
Deepak Anand, secretary of the Department of Labour Resources and the workshop’s chief guest, spoke about various government schemes designed to support women. He emphasised the role of skill training, employment, and self-employment initiatives in fostering economic independence. “Awareness is the first step to empowerment,” he said.
The workshop addressed key issues, including the prevention of sexual harassment at the workplace, the Women Empowerment Policy 2015, and the significance of vocational training. Speakers encouraged women to actively participate in government schemes and to stay informed about their rights.
Women employees from the Department of Labour Resources took part in the event, which provided insights into government schemes and self-employment opportunities.
Among those in attendance were Special Secretary Alok Kumar, Director (Planning and Training) Sunil Kumar Yadav, Deputy Director (Planning) Priyanka Kumari, and NSDC regional head Bhavna Verma, along with senior women officers and department employees.
