Labour Resources Secretary Reviews ITI Digha Construction and Training Facilities in Patna, Bihar

Patna: Deepak Anand, Secretary of the Labour Resources Department, Bihar, conducted an inspection of ITI Digha to review the progress of its building construction. He was joined by Director Shyam Bihari Meena, Joint Director Suresh Kumar Singh, Deputy Director Rakesh Ranjan, Deputy Director Atul Ranjan, Principal Vikas Chandra, and officials from the Building Construction Corporation and Patna Municipal Corporation.

During the review meeting, the Secretary emphasised the need to expedite construction. The Building Construction Corporation informed him that the project consultant had been finalized. Anand reiterated the department’s commitment to creating a world-class ITI building and approved a proposal to construct an archive on the hostel plot.

The Secretary also visited training labs established by Royal Enfield and Maruti Suzuki, commending them as exemplary models of modern facilities. He directed the institution to establish Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with other leading companies to broaden technical training opportunities. He stressed the importance of aligning training programs with market demands and urged trainers to maintain high standards in education.

Addressing the students, Anand encouraged them to explore both government and private sector job opportunities after completing their ITI courses. He highlighted the importance of participating in employment fairs organised by the department and spoke about the Centre of Excellence initiative being implemented across ITIs in Bihar. This program aims to equip students with advanced skills and modern technologies.

The Secretary also promoted the Integrated Information-cum-Solution Centre’s toll-free helpline (1800-296-5656), encouraging students to use it for enquiries and to access government schemes. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to strengthening technical education and accelerating development efforts across Bihar.
