Lalu Criticizes BJP and Central Government Amidst Political Alliances and ED Summons
New Delhi/Patna: In a fiery critique of the central government and the BJP, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad spoke out in Delhi, dismissing media portrayals of the recent India Alliance meeting as skewed. Accusing some sections of the media of being biased towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yadav asserted that their reporting consistently contradicts the decisions made within the political alliance.
Contrary to reports suggesting that both Nitish Kumar and Lalu left the meeting in anger, the latter clarified that such assertions are premature, emphasizing that not everyone attends post-meeting press conferences. He stressed that discussions during the meeting included crucial topics such as seat-sharing, and decisions need to be expedited to facilitate the rapid expansion of the alliance. Lalu maintained that both he and Nitish Kumar are working together harmoniously.
Responding to BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi’s claim that Lalan Singh’s friendship with Lalu has strained ties, leading to a potential removal of Singh from the post of JDU President, Lalu dismissed the statement as baseless and irrelevant.
Lalu and his younger son and Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav arrived in Patna on Thursday evening. Tejashwi, addressing the media on the summons from the Enforcement Directorate (ED), affirmed that they have cooperated with various investigative agencies in the past and will continue to do so. He noted the immense pressure on agency personnel and questioned their predicament.
Tejashwi highlighted a pre-existing understanding that investigations tend to intensify in Bihar-Jharkhand after elections in states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan. Regarding the INDIA Alliance meeting, he dispelled rumors of discontent, stating that only a select few were designated to brief the press, and any contrary reports stem from misguided journalistic perspectives.
