Lalu Prasad Hosts Rahul Gandhi at Rabri Residence, Discusses Bihar Elections and Protests in Patna

Patna: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav hosted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at his residence in Rabri, where he fed him green gram-chura and took him on a tour of the cowshed and temple located within the premises. During the visit, Lalu’s son Tejashwi Yadav showed Rahul a video related to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while senior leaders like Tej Pratap and Misa Bharti were also present. State Congress president Akhilesh Singh and other leaders, including former president Madan Mohan Jha and Shakeel Ahmed Khan, accompanied Rahul during the visit.

Before his visit to Rabri’s residence, Rahul Gandhi interacted with BPSC candidates protesting at Gardanibagh, where they have been demanding the complete cancellation of the BPSC preliminary examination. Rahul engaged in a 22-minute discussion with the students’ delegation at Hotel Chanakya before heading to the protest site. He assured the protesting candidates of his support, stating, “I am with you. Wherever you say, you will find Rahul Gandhi standing with you.”

At Gardanibagh, students showed Rahul videos of the police’s lathicharge on protestors, a moment that left him visibly serious. Rahul assured the students that he would help raise the issue in Parliament. Teacher Rahmanshu Sir, who was present at the protest, mentioned that Rahul Gandhi saw the videos of the police brutality and expressed his commitment to supporting their cause.

Rahul’s visit to the protest site, despite a brief stay, was seen as a step in support of the students’ ongoing struggle, which has been continuing for over a month. The students’ delegation also presented a letter detailing the incident, which Rahul promised to review and assist with further.
