Laser Shows to Return to Patna’s Historic Golghar After Five-Year Hiatus
Patna: After a five-year break, the much-anticipated multimedia show at Patna’s iconic Golghar is set to make a comeback. This revival promises an immersive experience, where audiences can witness Bihar’s rich heritage brought to life through laser lighting. The Directorate of Archaeology, under the Department of Art, Culture and Youth, has issued a tender to facilitate the show’s return.
In addition to the multimedia spectacle, new features will be introduced at Golghar. A fountain platform will be constructed within the premises, enhanced with colorful lights and synchronized sound effects, designed to captivate visitors. The laser show will narrate the history of Bihar, offering a visual treat that combines culture and technology. Seating arrangements will be provided, allowing spectators to enjoy the show well into the evening.
Rahul Kumar, Director of the Directorate of Archaeology and Museum, shared that this will be the first time a laser show will be projected onto the fountain at Golghar. To improve accessibility, an e-ticketing system has been introduced, enabling visitors to book tickets from the comfort of their homes. The previous laser show at Golghar, which was held inside the historic structure, was discontinued in 2019 due to technical issues. The company awarded the tender will not only oversee the production of the show but also be responsible for its maintenance over the next five years.
