Patna has been selected as the filming location for 15 of the upcoming projects, with official permissions being issued for set construction in areas like Ganga Diara. By the end of June alone, five major Hindi film announcements are anticipated, signalling Bihar’s growing prominence in India’s film industry.

  • Boost for Local Economy and Culture

The surge in film activity is expected to have a ripple effect across sectors. Local artists, technicians, and guides will find new employment opportunities, while the hospitality sector—hotels, restaurants, and taxis—stands to benefit from the influx of film crews and tourists. Improvements in infrastructure, such as roads, internet, and electricity, are also being prioritised at key filming sites.

Government Support Through Grants

Under the Bihar Film Policy, the government is offering grants ranging from Rs 2 crore to  Rs 4 crore to filmmakers who shoot at least 75% of their film in the state. TV serials are also eligible for financial assistance of up to Rs 1 crore. The aim is to position Bihar not only as a cultural destination but as a viable, cost-effective filming hub.
