LJP Leader’s Son Beaten to Death in Bihar Village, Mother Injured

A young man was killed and his mother injured in a violent attack linked to an old rivalry in Saharsa district.

Saharsa: A tragic incident took place in Bihar’s Saharsa district on Monday night, where the son of a local leader from Chirag Paswan’s LJP (Ram Vilas) party was beaten to death. The victim, 21-year-old Rakesh Kumar alias Kakesh, was the son of Arun Yadav, the block president of the party in Salkhua. The attack happened in Salkhua Deeh Tola village during a clash between two groups.

According to villagers, the fight started because of an old rivalry between the families. It is said that there had been a dispute involving women earlier, which led to Monday’s violence. During the clash, Rakesh was attacked with sticks by Kishore Yadav, Niranjan Yadav, and others. His mother, Rambha Devi, who works as an ASHA health worker, tried to save her son but was also badly beaten.

Rakesh and his mother were taken to the nearby Salkhua Hospital. From there, doctors referred them to Sadar Hospital in Saharsa for better treatment. Sadly, Rakesh died on the way. His mother is still being treated at the hospital.

After the incident, police officers including DSP Mukesh Kumar Thakur and Sadar SDPO Alok Kumar visited the area. The police have arrested two people so far and are continuing their investigation. Officials believe the attack happened because of an old personal dispute. The village remains tense after the violent incident.
