Massive Fire Breaks Out in Battery Factory in Purnia’s Maranga Industrial Area
Purnia: A massive fire erupted in a battery factory located in the Maranga Biada Industrial Area of Purnia, sending a towering balloon of flames into the sky, visible from surrounding areas. The fire originated in the factory’s gas chamber during welding work, with sparks rapidly escalating into fierce flames that engulfed the entire chamber within seconds.
The incident caused chaos among the factory workers, who rushed to safety as the flames spread. A large crowd gathered outside the factory, and the operator immediately contacted the fire brigade. Responding swiftly, four fire engines arrived at the scene. Firefighters worked tirelessly for an hour before successfully bringing the blaze under control.
The extent of the damage to the factory has not yet been assessed. Eyewitnesses recorded videos of the fire, showing thick black smoke and flames rising from the gas chamber. The terrifying visuals underscored the intensity of the incident, which caused panic in the area.
Rupesh Singh of the Biada Industrial Area provided details about the mishap, explaining that the fire started between 10 and 11 a.m. due to sparks from welding in the gas chamber. The fire spread so rapidly that it consumed the chamber within moments. The swift arrival of fire engines helped prevent the fire from spreading further.
Authorities are now investigating the incident, and measures are being taken to assess the losses and ensure safety in the future.
